Make sure you document your personal property before you close it up / get travel “insurance” that covers your items in bags and equipment. 2. I use a longer pro-movie camera tripod. They can x-ray case-bags-equipment placed underneath So, I use thick clear plastic bags and bubble wrap outer hard case. Place every thing (items) onboard or below in clear plastic. 3. Onboard-you can run into a kastapo employee that is weird about tripods. A tripod for my still equipment that fits in a overhead bag-placed in thick plastic bag has worked for me. Except, in New York (layover city) once they caught me off guard making me place “all” my gear under. Wow! Not good. Assume that at some point an employee will go against all other cities coming-going stops…

Why are you taking a tripod to Korea? Are you planning on taking photos at night and need a tripod? Or are you taking a video camera with you and need a fluid head?
